    Good Morning to you all

    I am contacting you in the hope you may be able to help.

    I have now entered my final year of the Le Cordon Bleu Masters in Gastronomy and I am working to conceptualize my dissertation topic. One that intrigues me at present is how Gastronomic Tourism Products come about and what effect they have.

    What I am considering at the moment is the advent of New Asia Cuisine as a case study. New Asia Cuisine, which was an initiative about 10 years ago from the STB, with a stated objective of injecting modern elements into traditional and classical Asian Cuisine is now quite a mature tourism product. What I hope to demonstrate is the effects of that this initiative has had on the hospitality industry. Obviously as you are all providing cuisine and education attuned to the tourist market it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on whether or not or how NAC has impacted on training, the industry or food culture in Singapore. If you are also able to provide contacts to the Singapore Chefs Association board members or to any one else who you think may be able to assist me I would greatly appreciate you forwarding this message to them so they may contact me directly.

    If you are able to and would like to contribute to any on line discussion please reply to this email. A positive reply will satisfy the requirement for ‘consent to communicate’ under the new ‘spam’ laws enacted in 2007.

    Dear Readers,

    When talking about Asian Cuisine, Indian cuisine needs a serious mention. As Mark Twain had said ” INDIA is the cradle of civilisation” . The concept of civilisation started there. If during colonisation the colonists had not changed the information or text books for their colonial benifits we would be still getting the honest facts. Even in the Vedas and the sutras, all the fine dinings of the DEVAS, KINGS and gods had originated in India.Keeping gimicks aside in New York a few Hard core Chefs with very good credentials have made some impressive contribution in this matter . Chefs like FLOYD CARDOZ, TUHIN DUTTA , AKTHAR NAWAB indeed need a mention for their ground breaking work.
